Mastermind Toys - (Near Coquitlam, BC)

Rue Malan I just want to preface that I gave this review a five star, because I didn’t want my bad review to negatively affect the other lovely workers I encountered during my visit, however I do want to acknowledge one particular individual who made the experience less than what it should’ve been for me. During the Black Friday event at this store, I interacted with this one worker whose attitude was quite standoffish towards me and she came off as a bit impolite. She wore glasses with a bob and bangs. At first, I tried to brush it off as maybe stress from the event (I also work in retail, so I can understand the pressure of working these type of events), but the more I communicated with her, the more her behaviour persisted and her words were virtually passive aggressive in nature the entire time. She would give my inquiries short and clipped responses and there were times where she made me feel stupid for not knowing the ins and outs of Arc’teryx tech. I do admit that I am a newer customer towards this brand as of the past year, but I was hoping that the answers to my questions would be provided more kindly. At least, just not straight up rude, especially since the jackets aren’t exactly cheap and I would like to know more about what I’m buying without someone being judgemental about my ignorance. Overall, I’m very happy that I was able to find the jacket I wanted for a decent price in time for winter, but my experience with that one woman really dampened my experience and I left feeling a bit disheartened. To be clear, this one interaction is in no way a reflection of the store or the entire staff, but I just wanted to bring to attention how I was treated as a fellow worker in retail. I’ve never encountered that type of treatment before and I expected more coming from a workplace representing such a luxury brand.

Ksui Wonderful staff, always patient and have your best intention with styling you. Of course they will try to upsell you, but I find it’s only when they truly believe something looks good on you. They are honest people and recommend clothing that actually suits you. I am very pleased with my dresses and accessories I’ve bought here. Shout out to Marita for always helping me with a smile, but the staff have all been warm towards me.

Valentina Buendía I absolutely love the store and the owner is very nice. Ive bought at least half of my crystals there and every time I go I buy more. They have necklaces, bracelets, trees, pendulums and so much more and they are all at a reasonable price. If you live in Coquitlam or are just visiting I highly recommend going there.

Don Kim I usually visit on weekend mornings, and one of your male staff members always greets me with a warm smile and a cheerful “Good morning.” It truly makes my day start on a positive note. All of your staff are very friendly and welcoming. Thank you.

Sarah Dawson I went to T&T Supermarket Coquitlam Store and it was a cool place to shop for lots of different foods and snacks. The store has fresh fruits and veggies, yummy bakery treats, and even hot ready-to-eat food that you can enjoy right away. I liked walking through the big aisles and seeing so many kinds of noodles, sauces, candies and drinks from all over Asia. The store feels clean and bright, and the people working there were friendly and helped when I had questions. Sometimes it can be a bit busy, and parking is a little tricky on weekends, but I still had a good time shopping and found lots of tasty things to take home. I would go back again because it’s a fun place to explore new foods!
