5 /5 kman pirating: This is a high end steak and seafood restaurant in Mississauga that looks like a castle. Apparently, the building itself has been around since 1971! It does feel historical.
The place is huge, so you dont really need to worry about not getting a table but they still do recommend that you make reservations ahead of time.
Depending on what you order, it be could anywhere from $100 up to $220 per person. Its very pricy but worth it. You pay a lot but you get a lot portion-wise. They also have an extensive wine list for the wine connoisseurs.
The dish to order is the La Castile Platter for 2". You get 2 bacon wrapped filet mignon, 2 lobster tails, 2 jumbo scallops, 2 shrimp scampi, about 2 pounds of king crab legs, vegetables and 2 side dishes. We also ordered the Lobster Bisque Soup for $14 and the Oysters Rockefeller for $34. I highly recommend both!
The platter has no fixed price and is shown as "market price" on the menu because the price of seafood always changes. At the time, August 2025, we paid $320 for the platter. Its a lot of food! You could feed 3 people easily with this dish. 4 people, its a little short but for 2 people, its plenty. Its the perfect combination of surf and turf (steak and seafood).
They also have a "Seafood Platter for 2" which is basically the "La Castile Platter for 2" without the steaks also at market price. And of course you could order steaks and seafood a la carte (separately). Price for steaks range from $58 for 6oz to $95 for a 26oz. Almost all the seafood dishes are market price.
Dessert is the weak link for this restaurant. Most of the desserts are pretty ordinary, nothing special. We ordered the "Creme Brulee Cheesecake". It sounds great but was a real let down. Its just a regular cheesecake with a crispy top.
The other notable downside of this restaurant is: they dont celebrate special occasions. You can book the restaurant for special occasions but you dont get anything complimentary (free). No dessert, no cake, nothing at all.
Considering the prices they charge and being a single stand alone restaurant with only 1 location to maintain, youd think that they could afford to comp a single $9.50 dessert to brighten someones special day that only comes once a year. "The Keg" still wins out as the place to celebrate special occasions in my opinion.
Despite these short comings, I still give this restaurant 5 stars because of the phenomenal food and outstanding service. Theyre really expensive but its worth it. Definitely save this restaurant for special occasions but remember, youre not going to get any free cake.
