5 /5 Nanita Witherspoon: We recently celebrated a milestone birthday there. The food and drinks were wonderful. All the pasta dishes were cooked perfectly. My favourite was the gnocchi. Our platter appetizer was really good. The pickled grapes on the platter were out of this world. Best thing I ate all night. Our waitress was great as we were a large party.

3 /5 Mark Smith: The atmosphere was great. The service felt fake and the food did not live up to the expectations. Plus the wait time for food was much longer than normal and the server couldnt read the cues that we were getting a bit annoyed. The butternut salad was a very boring and lacked flavour. All in all I was expecting a better experience based on the prices and hype of the place. The dinner party that we went with shared similar disappointments. The picture of my steak fries meal looks bland. See for yourself.

4 /5 Joy C: It was our first time going to Sugo. I loved the atmosphere. The service was decent. It wasnt so busy, but we had to wait on our server a few times. We ordered the calamari, speziato pizza, bolognese, risotto alla zucca and sticky coffee pudding. The calamari was perfectly fried with bites of salad and aioli. Every bite of the speziato pizza had cupped pepperoni or soppressata. I loved that it came with a spicy garlic sauce. It wasnt too spicy and it went well with the pizza. The bolognese tasted homemade and fresh. The risotto alla zucca was my least favourite dish. It honestly tasted like Mac n cheese with rice. I found it to be very thick and creamy like a Mac n cheese. It did have flavours of thr butternut squash, and nutty flavours of the Hazelnut, but I thought it would have more of a Umami flavour of the mushroom. The mushroom was just added on top. I would never order risotto again. My favourite dish was the sticky toffee pudding. I loved the ginger and cinnamon gelato. It went so well with the warm pudding. Overall I would return to try different dishes.

3 /5 Gabriel Bokich: Sugo on Surrey is a cute little Italian restaurant that has a house layout. Entering the facility we were greeted by a kind hostess. Once we sat down we did wait an extensively long time when the restaurant was mostly empty due to a snow storm. I will also say the waitress also seemed in a rush and was just kind of jittery with us. I also wanna take note of how annoying the music was. It would be a lot more fitting if they had background noise piano playing but they had folk playing and it was very annoying. To start of the Caesar salad was perfection as well as the other salad we got which I don’t know the name of but is in the photos attached. We also started off with the Nonna’s meatballs which were dry and lacked flavor. For the main I ordered the pollo. The chicken was phenomenal but the mashed potatoes it rests on could’ve used more flavor. Their pastas are fresh but I didn’t quite care for the spice to flavor ratio on the one my sister ordered which is also pictured. Overall I would come back to try the pizza and more pastas but the service was just really underwhelming.

5 /5 Shawn Sheng: Amazing top tier Italian restaurant with delicious dishes in an intimate setting. The interior is in a 2 story building that is dimly lit and nicely decorated. The food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pizza and pasta were very tasty and nicely portioned. The desserts were also fantastic.
