The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Brampton - (Near Brampton, ON)

4 /5 Michelle N: Dined her to catch up with friends. The Keg always as a very romantic, fine dining atmosphere. We started with shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were a good size and the seafood sauce was perfect (never enough shrimp at any restaurant though lol). Wedge salad was fresh & tasty. The escargot was served hot but with a taste that I wasn’t familiar with (maybe a curry seasoning), but was still good. Our main courses consisted of prime rib (done to perfection), but as always, had a bit too much fat with garlic mashed potatoes which were very good, but could have been served warmer. Fillet mignon was a good size and served as requested. Overall the meal was good but I still find the prices at The Keg too pricey. And to end the meal, crème brûlée. It had a beautiful hard crust and tasted amazing.

3 /5 Nashid: Pretty disappointing experience here. The good: Our appetizers were solid - the 3 pepper wings were nice, and the spicy chicken nachos were’t bad either. They also gave us some complimentary fresh bread which was nice. The bad: I ordered a medium rare 14oz steak, but it looked and tasted rare to me. I’m no steak chef, but usually you’ll see a cooked crust with a pink middle - whereas this was just entirely pink. Look at my pink knife beside the steak if you want a reference. To make things worse, the steak was barely seasoned. There was a part that looked seasoned, but it was on a fat cap that was so thick that I couldn’t even eat it. I’m convinced a good chunk of the 14oz I ordered was just untrimmed, inedible fat. The fries were so-so as well, especially with there not being many on the plate. I should’ve complained at the time, but I didn’t want to cause a fuss in front of my in-laws. Regardless, I would expect better from a $50+ steak from a steakhouse. I had to take it home just to add more seasoning and re-cook it. I’ve been going to The Keg since I was a kid, but after this I doubt that I’ll come back. Quite a shame.

1 /5 Austin Hibbs: My fiancé and I visited at 6:40pm to celebrate our 2-year anniversary, but unfortunately the experience fell far below what we’ve always loved about The Keg. Despite noting our occasion, we waited 40 minutes before anyone took our drink order, and another lengthy delay before our food order was taken. We were repeatedly overlooked, and it truly dampened what should have been a special evening. What concerned us most was that both the manager and server were aware of my fiancé’s almond allergy, yet our Billy Miner Pie still arrived topped with almonds. This was not only disappointing, but potentially dangerous. She ended up not eating it and sad. To be fair, the food was outstanding and the kitchen staff did an exceptional job. However, the service did not reflect the standard we’ve come to expect. On past anniversaries, we’ve always felt acknowledged and taken care of. This time, despite the notes, nothing was followed through. It was a deeply disappointing visit to a place that has always been one of our favourites.

5 /5 Chris Song: The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire meal. To make the evening even more special, they surprised us with a complimentary ice cream cake for our birthday. We left feeling happy, well taken care of, and completely full.

4 /5 kaemlice: We had dinner a few weeks ago. I love the atmosphere very nice so was the service. The appetizers were so yummy. I was a little disappointed of the food the steak was ok with a few green bean and a few beets ,I was surprised having beets since is not a very popular vegetable. Luckily we order bake potatoes. The bread is very good .
