Ivan Yushin The spot is located near the Grant River, and some of the tables offer a lovely view of the water. Its a peaceful location that sets the scene nicely for a relaxed meal.
Service is not just quick, but also extraordinary — attentive without being overbearing.
One of the standout features of this place is that its one of the few remaining restaurants that still offers a complimentary warm baguette with butter — a nice touch that instantly makes you feel welcome.
Escargots
The escargots were tender and sautéed in garlic butter, then topped with a rich three-cheese mix. However, the garlic, cheese, and green onion somewhat overshadowed the escargots themselves, and the dish turned out a bit saltier than expected. Still, it was a really good starter.
This restaurant offers a very appealing deal that includes the soup of the day, an unlimited salad bar, and a steak. Great value for anyone looking to make the most of their meal.
New York Striploin
We ordered it medium-rare, but it came out closer to medium. While it wasn’t exactly what we had in mind, it was still delicious - tender and juicy, with plenty of flavor.
Surf & Turf
The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium-rare, it was very tender and full of flavor - exactly what you expect from a great steak!
The lobster tail made the dish extraordinary – I cannot recall such a perfect “surf & turf” in recent years. I really enjoyed it (and my mouth still waters when I recall the experience!).
Crème Brûlée
The crème brûlée was above average, with a nice balance of creamy richness and a crisp, caramelized top. The Americano that followed was also good — smooth and well-balanced.
Conclusion: I highly recommend this place for its excellent value (as the prices are very attractive), especially for those visiting the Stratford Festival from Toronto.
