4 /5 Mateo Orrantia: Very, very good. Excellent vibe on the inside, which is kind of a nice surprise for a spot I always thought of as a takeout joint. Really cool seating setup. Shawarma was solid, but my highlights were the fattoush salad and the fries. Good bet if youre looking for a nice little comfort meal downtown!

5 /5 Annie: I stopped by Tomah after seeing their amazing 4.9-star reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered the beef skewer platter with rice, salad, and hummus, along with the yogurt made with garlic and mint. The plate was generous and full of flavour! The yogurt was a bit salty for my taste, but still refreshing and authentic. The food arrived quickly, the decor was lovely, and the service was warm, everyone greeted me with smiles and goodbyes. A great spot just steps from the Hamilton Convention Centre. Highly recommend!

5 /5 Mal E: I have to give 5 stars only when I wish I could give 10! Tomah is a gem in Hamilton, providing the most comforting, tasty, and special food one could ask for. It was a weekly staple for my partner and I (always the chicken-falafel shawarma, the beef spring rolls, and the cheese spring rolls) and it made our nights so special when we had it. We loved how warm and homey it was so much so that we had Tomah cater for our small wedding on James St N. They delivered beyond our expectations - meeting a variety of different dietary restrictions. Our guests tummies were full and happy, and ALL leftovers were taken by the end of the night. One of our vegetarian guests said this was the first time in the year she had a vegetarian meal that actually made her happy and full. Everyone loved the food and we loved being able to share one of our favourite restaurants with them. The owner was so kind he even gave us a celebratory tray of baklava on the house as a wedding gift! The spirit of Tomah being a family restaurant really shines through in how they treat customers, and the food they make. Even though I live far away from the restaurant now, its always my #1 spot whenever I’m in Hamilton again!

5 /5 Brandon Alkhani: Fantastic spot for authentic Syrian food. Brought my mother here after going a few times and she said it was like eating back home. She only had good things to say (a rare feat). We got the kibbeh, falafel, labneh, and hummas to start. The kibbeh was fantastic; crispy outside and moist inside with bits of beef, onion, and pomegranate. The pom added a little burst of sweetness that helps to cut through the richness of the meat. Falafels were very cute shaped like hearts and had a really good texture to them. Labneh tasted fresh and tangy with a generous amount of black sesame and olive oil. Hummus was very smooth and silky; a perfect compliment to the fried falafels and kibbeh. We shares a shawarma with fries entree. The toum garlic sauce was perfect, I liked that it was so overbearingly garlicy but still zippy enough to add plenty of flavour. The shawarma was lovely and the chicken was juicy. They barbecue their chicken which retains a lot of moisture. My only gripe was the side salad in the entree was slightly underdressed, but alas, everything else was fantastic. The service is very friendly. Family owned spot and you can tell they care about their product and the community they serve. Not overbearing and responsive when requested. The atmosphere is cute. It feels like a restaurant back in Syria with decor and design sourced from there. I highly recommend Tomah for anybody looking to try an authentic Syrian take of some middle eastern classics.

5 /5 Danie Thrasher: I ordered catering for 10 people through Tomah’s website for a work meeting and had a great experience from start to finish. I received an email confirmation and receipt right away, and when I called on the day of pickup to confirm, the gentleman who answered was incredibly kind and helpful. He immediately knew which order I was calling about, clarified the details, and even asked for my preference between two dishes. He updated the order smoothly and confirmed my pickup time. When I arrived, I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff were so welcoming and went above and beyond by helping me carry everything out to my car — especially appreciated after the huge snowstorm earlier in the week, since I had to park across the street due to snowbanks and rush hour traffic. Before I left, the chef even wished us enjoyment of the food, which was such a thoughtful touch. Back at work, I was genuinely impressed by how generous the portions were and how beautifully everything was presented in the serving trays. Everyone at the meeting commented on how amazing the food tasted. Truly a 10/10 experience. I can’t wait to enjoy the leftovers myself!
