Haru Izakaya - (Near Gatineau, QC)

Chris Allison Stopped in on a rare trip to Gatineau and love the place. Great service, fun, family-friendly atmosphere, great food and reasonable prices. I had the burger (done medium!) and the Mousse au Chocolat. Burger is like a high-end bistro doing a Big Mac. Will definitely have it again, but there are other things on the menu first - carpaccio! The desert wasn’t my favourite - but was still delicious. Chocolate mousse, peanuts and something like a cinnamon spiced beaver tail cube. Very tasty, but I’ll do the crème brûlée next time. Lots of board games, friendly helpful staff and metres from a few other excellent game shops. ❤️

Antoine Ouellon Disclaimer: this November 11, 2025 rating is somewhat biased as the owner, for the last few years, provides 3 options from the menu (smashed burger and fries, mac and cheese or a poutine) free of charge for military members on Remembrance Day. This year I went to try this place for the first time and it was very good. The venue was nice with an impressive selection of alcohol that I would need to investigate further. I will certainly come back and add more comments and adjust my rating if needed, but today was a very enjoyable experience, and not only because the meal was on the house (actually I don’t think I deserve it as much as some of my esteemed colleagues). Lani I didnt actually go the restaurant Chez Wallys but rather the food truck during an event at Parc Mousette in Gatineau. The explosive panini was was wonderful. Sandwiches arent usually my go-to meal but this was well balanced between meat, cheese, sauce...easy to eat and very easy to enjoy! Service was great. The wait didnt feel long at all and panini was warm and fresh! It was a very hot day today so the atmosphere could have been better, but I dont think Chez Wally controls the weather, yet! ;-) Highly recommend visiting the Chez Wallys food truck for amazing panini sandwich! Looking forward to visiting the restaurant one day. :-)

Clo My boyfriend and I stopped in for poutine and we were blown away. He ordered the buffalo chicken poutine and I got the classic original. Both were absolutely incredible. The fries were perfectly crispy, the cheese curds were super fresh, and the gravy was rich, savoury, and very good. The buffalo chicken had the perfect amount of heat without overpowering the dish. Generous portions for price. Everything came out hot, fast, and full of flavour. Honestly one of the best poutines we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Adriana Fares Fouhad was extremely kind when I came in, made me feel very welcomed and seemed very happy to serve his customers. The service I receive every time I go is always amazing and the food is even better. Definitely recommend this place for authentic Lebanese food :)

Kourosh Lalavi One of the better breakfast and brunch spots in the surrounding area, personally ordered on Doordash and the food was still warm. Dont forget to ask for sauces, usually not included with online orders
