Château Ramezay - Musée et site historique de Montréal -

Rating: 4.5 /5
Ngoc Vu Bich When you walk in, you arrive directly at the reception desk. A staff member collects the ticket. It was around $15 after tax per person, if I remember correctly. The front area also has a small gift shop with Montreal-themed souvenirs and items related to the museum. Prices seemed reasonable, nice if you want a small keepsake. The museum is divided into different rooms, each designed with its own color palette and theme. Every room represents a different period, group of people, or activity connected to the history of the house and Montreal over time. The first room takes you back to the early settlement days, with small-scale models, preserved artifacts, and an audio booth where you can listen to recorded stories. The audio is available in multiple languages, including French, English, Spanish, Chinese, and a few others. Everything is quiet, clean, and neatly presented, with clear labels beside each display. The rooms are beautifully preserved and very well maintained. One fun detail I really liked: they have historical clothing, hats, and even wooden shoes that you can try on and “dress up” in right there. It makes the experience more interactive and honestly quite fun. It’s a great place to visit with family, friends, or your partner, especially with kids. You can learn a lot in a calm and thoughtful setting. Definitely worth a stop when visiting Montreal.

Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal - Montréal

Rating: 4.7 /5
Stephan Obarewicz A crowned jewel at the heart of the historic center of Montreal, where celebrities wed or receive a final homage after crossing the last bridge. It is also a place to reconvene for other momentous events, such as college graduation or midnight mass on Christmas eve. The latter is especially divine when choirs elevate the mass. The interior of the church is considered by some a masterpiece of gothic revival architecture, having been named the 6th most beautiful building in the world by the publication Angi, Notre-Dame de Paris being second and Gaudi’s Sagrada Família first. The vaults are coloured deep blue and decorated with golden stars, letting the pilgrims gather their thoughts and prayers in an inspiring awe. The rest of the sanctuary is decorated in blues, azures, reds, purples, silver, and gold, and with hundreds of sophisticated wooden carvings, giving the Cathedral an even more grandiose stance. Uniquely, the stained glass windows depict scenes from the religious history of Montreal, instead of the usual biblical scenes. Facing the altar is a beautiful and impressive Casavant pipe organ, comprising four keyboards and a hefty 7000 pipes. Approximately 11 million people come at Notre-Dame yearly, making it one of the most visited monuments in North America. Enjoy your visit and may peace be conferred upon you all.

La Grande Roue de Montréal - Montréal

Andy fuentes You absolutely have to visit La Grande Roue! I got there 30 minutes before they closed and had the whole place to myself—the views were breathtaking. As a Chilean visiting Canada for the first time, seeing this right at the start of my trip left me enchanted and already wanting to return to Montreal. ✨
