Aroma Meze - (Near Ottawa, ON)

Laura Lord Belle I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday with dinner at Gitanes, and it was a reminder of why I love this restaurant. The evening began with a delightful cocktail, Nouveau Riche for my convive and a very dirty gin martini for moi, accompanied by a half dozen oysters with a mignonette that was so fresh and another accompanying sauce that was a rich miso. We continued with les riz de veau ( sweetbreads piccata) beautifully presented, crunchy yet moist and succulent and the tuna crudo with canary melon serrano and hazelnuts. Sheer joy en bouche. For my main course, We shared the steak frite with bearnaise, the fries of crispy and delicious, the steak was a perfect medium rare and juicy. Paired with a Barolo from their impressive list, which did not disappoint, robust and yet divine wine. The service was impeccable from start to finish. I will most definitely be returning. Excellent service goes out to our server who brought a purse table hook as I sat at our table for my evening purse. How practical and yes, attentive.

Antoine Ouellon Awesome spot for a light, delicious and healthy lunch. They serve a variety of hot and iced coffees, and the Turkish one was good, although I’ll ask it stronger next time. Excellent service, fairly priced items and relaxing ambiance. Highly recommended.

Frank DeRosa Jr. The place was pretty packed on a Wednesday night but I was able to get a table. The beer, salad and pizza were delicious!! All of my choices were recommendations from my servers and she was great. I’ll be coming back here for sure.

Tess Murphy Easily the best brunch I’ve ever had. Almost anything can be made gluten free. Had the blackstone eggs benny on gluten free bread. The hollandaise sauce was sensational, the potatoes best I’ve ever had. Arrived around 9:15, got the call 10 minutes later our table was ready, we were eating by 9:45. Didn’t feel rushed out of there at all given how busy they are which was nice.

Alanna Marie One word: WOW!!! We were greeted by the warm and inviting presence of our incredibly attentive server, Shaw. She was beyond stellar, going above and beyond to create a fantastic and personal guest experience. My partner and I dined here for the Valentine’s day special, visiting this spot for the first time - and were SO impressed with the food, drink selection, service, speed of service (!!), and atmosphere. In my opinion, this is the go-to spot for date night in Ottawa. I could not say more than .. total perfection!! We will be returning and requesting a table in Shaw’s section for SURE!!! Thank you to the kitchen team and service staff for an exceptional evening. I have not been this wowed by the Ottawa food scene in a long time. Absolutely visit this spot if you are looking for a welcoming but upscale dining experience. It simply cannot be beat.

Paul Marchand Great restaurant with tremendous service, delicious food and the atmosphere of an old whaling boat. I loved it! All that was missing was some sea shanty music. Even for a person like myself that is not big on seafood there were still multiple options on the menu for me to eat. That said, the oysters were awesome! Multiple sauces given including a special element I wont spoil. Reservations are definitely needed in advance as it is a very popular place to go to.
