Arghya Basu We went to The French for Saturday brunch, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish.
We had a reservation, though it wasn’t overly busy — which made the atmosphere feel relaxed and unhurried. The ambiance is warm, elegant, and inviting. We were seated by a beautiful window, which made the whole brunch feel even more special.
The beer selection was excellent. I had the A Hamilton IPA, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with brunch.
For food, we both ordered Benedicts — I went with the beef Benedict, and my wife chose the salmon. Both were outstanding. The poached eggs were perfectly done, the hollandaise was rich without being overwhelming, and the flavors were beautifully balanced. My herbed fingerlings were absolutely delicious — crisp on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just right.
My wife’s salad deserves special mention — it was just too good. Fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully put together.
And then came dessert — the crème brûlée. Exquisite. Perfectly caramelized top with a silky smooth custard underneath. A flawless ending to a wonderful brunch.
Highly recommend The French for a relaxed yet refined brunch experience in Hamilton. We’ll definitely be back.
