5 /5 Tyler Nietvelt: Went for my birthday dinner with the family and had a wonderful dinner. Matt and Hunter were our servers and gave us great recommendations (they actually tried the food and were spot on) as well as amazing service even on a really busy night. Overall great atmosphere and lots to choose from on the menu. Cant wait to come back and try more!

3 /5 EDWARD JUN: Despite the bad weather, One Eyed Jack was quite busy, giving it a warm, local hangout vibe that I really liked. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the prices were very reasonable—great for a casual, no-pressure meal. However, the Fish & Chips were a bit disappointing. The fish was over-fried and felt a little lacking, and the coleslaw tasted either under-seasoned or like it had been prepared too far in advance. The steak, though flavorful, was quite thin for a 10 oz and leaned toward well-done even though I ordered medium-rare. Overall, it’s a place where the value and atmosphere stand out more than the food quality.

1 /5 Phil -Phil DC: Went twice. First time on a Saturday night (HUGE mistake unless you like it extremely loud with football on every screen). Food was bad. Ordered fish & chips and the fish tasted freezer burnt. Wife ordered veal parm on Alfredo. About 1” all around the veal was burnt. Alfredo pasta had very bland sauce that just tasted like cream…not really Alfredo. Second visit was on a Tuesday evening, much quieter, food not much better. Ordered ribs & wings….ribs arrived just warm, and the bottom portion that is just meat was so overcooked it was impossible to chew…like leather. Very surprised this has such a high rating for food. Wait staff super friendly and very apologetic about food quality.

4 /5 Aman El-Duweini: It was my first time visiting One Eyed Jack in Barrie. Since it was during the week, we didn’t need a reservation, which was convenient. I went for dinner with a friend and we started with a couple of appetizers. The coconut shrimp was very good—nice and crunchy and served with tasty dipping sauces. We also ordered the calamari. The portion size was generous and great for sharing, but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. The batter wasn’t as crispy as it should be and the pieces were cut a bit too thick for my taste. For the mains, we ordered the lobster and steak. The lobster was decent and cooked properly—I asked for it grilled and it came out well for the size. The New York steak, however, was disappointing. It didn’t appear to be properly char-grilled, and the fat hadn’t rendered or charred enough to add flavor. I ended up trimming most of the fat and just eating the meat inside. I’ve definitely had better steaks elsewhere. The local beers were okay, and the service was fine overall. One issue that stood out was the booth seating. The tables are extremely tight. I actually had to move the table just to sit comfortably. When I mentioned it to the server, she said that this is a very common complaint, which makes me wonder why nothing has been done about it if they already know it’s an issue. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to give it another try.

5 /5 Owl Feather Design: The French onion soup had a great flavor; with plenty of broth & cheese. The pea soup was perfectly salted & the potatoe skins were large portion. Large bar area, private style dinning room with booth seating. The booths have bench seating and small flat screen televisions mounted flush to the wood. The server was well kept, she spoke clear english & was attentive to our needs. She was prompt with getting drinks.
