Ratatouille Bistro - Ottawa

Rating: 4.7 /5
Moments in Motion Stopped by Ratatouille Bistro but couldn’t get a seat since I didn’t have a reservation. The place was clearly busy, which is usually a good sign. Took a moment to look around and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I’ll definitely come back another time with a reservation to finally try their food. Update: Visited this morning and overall had a good experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and most of the food was nicely prepared. The only downside was the lettuce—it wasn’t very fresh, and I ended up biting into a bit of sand. Everything else was enjoyable, though, and I’d still come back to try more dishes.

THE ALBION ROOMS RESTAURANT - Ottawa

Rating: 4.3 /5
Food_views and_reviews Had a fantastic meal at Albion Rooms! I ordered the crab cakes and crudités—both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The service was first rate—attentive without being overbearing—and the cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. A real gem. Would definitely recommend!

The King Eddy - Ottawa

Rating: 4.2 /5
Daniel Capoferri My family had a great lunch here in between Winterlude activities. It took quite a while to get a table, but once we had one the drinks and food service was quite quick! Some dishes were better than others, but overall this place has a great atmosphere and is quite popular and busy.

Squay Pee We had a large group on a very busy night. Staff did a great job of keeping orders (and bills) organized. The entire time from seating to bill payment approached 3 hours. Downside was the chicken breast seemed undersized.

Zaks Diner - Ottawa

Rating: 4.2 /5
Jim Reaugh If you’re looking for a solid gluten-free breakfast in Ottawa, Zak’s is a great find. I ended up eating here twice during the week, which is usually the best sign a place is doing something right. The surprise highlight was the gluten-free toast—honestly some of the best I’ve had. Most GF bread feels like edible cardboard, but this was actually good. The breakfasts are classic diner style: big plates, lots of potatoes, eggs cooked properly, and sausages that mean business. The diner itself has a fun retro vibe: booths, old-school lighting, and even a Mustang front-end turned into a counter. It feels like the kind of place where breakfast has been taken seriously for decades. Staff were friendly and quick, portions were generous, and it’s right in the heart of ByWard Market. If you’re gluten-free and wondering where to get a proper breakfast in Ottawa, start here.

Gyubee Japanese Grill (Ottawa) - Ottawa

Celestina Onabajo Came here with my partner a few weeks ago and had a great time! They don’t take reservations, but you have to join a virtual waitlist. We joined the wait list and had a table by the time we got there. It wasn’t our first time here, but our server, Heidi, gave us a quick rundown of the new additions. We took a minute to read over the menu then started ordering. We ordered an assortment of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other sides, all of which were fresh! I loved that our food came at different times so we could pace ourselves while we ate. Being able to cook our food ourselves is such a cool concept! Everything was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the new cold noodle soup (which I think was soba) and the pineapple! The servers routinely came by to clear our table of empty plates, allowing us to keep ordering more food. The food, atmosphere, and service were great overall and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone!
