The Purple Pear - (Near Hamilton, ON)

5 /5 Bill Dandie: This place makes me smile! Food has become corporate, big box and to find the little guy who cares is a real treat. We arrived when the restaurant opened, there was a line forming and Victor greeted us at the door. The restaurant has a flare of an old steak house as it was Martins previously. The decor is nice and the environment super clean. The food and service was spectacular and the bread set the stage. You can tell if the epicurial experience will be good from the bread and wow it truly performed, We started with escargot, and pleasantly recieved many more than the traditional 6 dimple plate holds. It was delicious! Mom and I both ordered the sea bass, the fish was perfectly prepared and the potato croquette was my highlight. It is formed like a pear and tantalizes the palate. This place is well visited by regulars and well most definitely be back! Thanks for the love!

5 /5 Christine Clarke: Our 1st visit to the Purple Pear. Although dated inside, i cant say anything bad about the food or the service. The food was cooked to perfection, and not everyone can get seafood cook well. They did. Flavorful and well plated. Vegetables were lovely as was the chicken I had. Our party enjoyed the chicken and seafood in a creamy white wine sauce, salmon and chicken and mushroom Linguine. Nice portionnsize and enough to take home. A must try.

5 /5 Mike: The owner is very friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend’s family has been coming here to celebrate special occasions for over a decade and it never disappoints. The food was incredibly delicious, and they have a good variety for all appetites. I look forward to my next visit

4 /5 Max Mauler: Had a night out with work associates. We tried most, if not all the appetizers and were quite happy with them. Great service, the decor and lighting could use a little updating but a very nice evening nonetheless.

5 /5 Brian johnston: Went to the Purple Pear for a family birthday celebration and were happy we decided to go to this cozy, old school, cozy restaurant. We had been here before and were always happy with the experience and were not disappointed on this occasion. As always the staff was inviting and attentive and a special thank you to our server who was kind and patient with my elderly mother who was having difficulty choosing a dinner. The owner, Victor was friendly and helpful as always as he made his way around to each and every table making all of his patrons feel welcomed. The food was outstanding, steaks cooked to perfection and served with interesting and delicious sides. It was a perfectly timed dinner with no one hurrying things along as we find happens in many other restaurants. This made our experience even more enjoyable as we able to enjoy good food and conversation without feeling rushed. All together a great dinner at a great price ... thank you Victor and Debby of the Purple Pear for having us over for dinner !!
