Saran Here’s my point of view. Richards Memorial Park is like the ultimate hangout spot, named after a local legend. Imagine this: lush greenery, chill vibes, and plenty of space to kick back and relax. You wander around, soaking up the laid-back atmosphere, maybe even learning a thing or two about Richards and his impact on the community. With cool plaques scattered around, you get a glimpse into the history and stories behind the park. Its the perfect place to unwind, whether youre here to pay tribute or just looking for a peaceful escape in nature. Richards Memorial Park is where good times and good vibes collide. Also, there’s a small piece of beach like space where you can enjoy the time in the water and sand as well.

Anja Moore-Heighington Beautiful park! Took the stroller and did the most of the Waterfront Trail, the Knoll Trail and Silver Maple Trail. I would say the Knoll Trail was best for the stroller as it was almost all boardwalk. The Silver Maple Trail had parts where it was less flat / maintained, with tree roots and such, making it a bit harder without a proper jogging stroller. There was a couple of small steps where the Waterfront Trail connected to the Silver Maple Trail, as well. No entrance fees or tickets needed. Overall the park is gorgeous, the trails are well maintained and it is a great spot for hiking!

Wylam Stokoe This is a great place to hike year round, during the warmer weather you can BBQ have a picnic table swim in the lake. There are a lot of water fowl in the area. Lots of parking and a off leash dog park.

Bharat Shah A good and ideal place for a family or group picnic. It has everything - a huge, and picturesque garden to keep children busy and amused; walking, jogging, and cycling trail with park on one side, and the ocean of sweet water (The lake) with its roaring waves on the other. Walk on the paved trail for some time till you reach the conservation area. If it is not dusk, you will love to explore this part of the world. Be careful and cautious, though, of some of the wild animals particularly in the evening. Plenty of sitting arrangements all over the place. You will find hundreds of benches everywhere. If you are interested in taking a bath or try your swimming skills, there are many areas where you find a lot of people enjoying the same and inviting you. From the entrance to the waterfront, there are many free parking lots. On weekends and holidays, consider yourself to be lucky if you get a spot in any of the considerbly big parking lots. Just park your car at the first lot where you see an empty spot. A must to go place for all the people who love to be with ever nourishing mother nature.
