Having moved to the USA, we’ve missed the charm and flavors of a traditional cabane à sucre, and this visit brought back so many great memories. Highlights: The location is fantastic, especially for tourists arriving by bus, which seems to be the main clientele. It’s well set up and welcoming. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he was absolutely fantastic—friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. The servers were wonderful, and the portions were generous. Everyone at our table enjoyed the meal, which made the experience even better. The little store was a fun addition, and we especially loved knowing that we met the man who makes the spoons—it added a personal touch to the visit. Room for Improvement: While the food was delicious overall, we were a bit disappointed by the dessert. After 10 years without visiting a cabane à sucre, we were hoping for more traditional treats like pouding chômeur or crêpes. It would have been the perfect way to end such a nostalgic meal. Overall: We’re so happy we made the trip and love that you offer this experience for most of the year. 3 /5 Allan C: Average quality lunch food - pea soup, meat pie, pancakes, ham, potatoes, omelette, maple tea. Cheap ingredients but will fill you up quickly. We needed to remind the waitress to serve the omelette. Servers didnt ask us whether we wanted more food, or to ask how service was. Busy restaurant with lots of tourists. They also have a gift shop. I wouldnt recommend if youre looking for a good quality meal, but if youre on the road between Montreal and Quebec then this place may be for you if youre looking to fill your stomach fast.
