Mama Khan - Montréal

Rating: 4.6 /5
Cimana Riz Mama Khan, located in Montreals Plateau, offers authentic Halal Pakistani cuisine with rich, traditional Peshawari flavors. Mama khan gave the generous portions and high quality of the food. The Chicken Karahi stands out for its rich, indulgent flavor, often noted to be prepared with butter (or makhni style), making it creamy and satisfying. Although dishes such as Biryani are rich in flavor, the spice level may be mild, so its advisable to request extra spice for those who enjoy a spicier taste. The must-try Kebabs and enormous, fresh chapati bread perfectly complement the hearty main courses. The service is friendly, Mama gave us a free chai, completing a warm, family-like dining experience.

julia wheeler Went here for a bite for a friends birthday after walking by and seeing the amazing atmosphere inside! The salmon dish was amazing - the sauce and crunchy onions on said salmon was amazing. Drinks were great. Fries were very good. Will need to come back! So much character

Sophia Cheng The service and atmosphere are warm and really great. There was a mistake where the kitchen made the wrong order, but it was corrected instantly and I was provided with hot tea as a complementary service I think, which was wonderful and has a slight flavor of mint. The seafood gargoulette was perfectly seasoned and the ingredients are fresh, though I had to order bread to ensure I felt full enough. I wasn’t even charged for the bread, maybe due to the early mishap, and was offered jasmine water on my hands before leaving, which smelled wonderful and shows how friendly the service is. I would love to come back again!

Best Quests truly our kind of place—and we can’t believe it took us this long to discover it. A long-standing favorite for many, it now firmly holds that title for us too. The space is intimate and refreshingly straightforward, with great food, great drinks, and prices that feel more than fair. Every part of the experience hit just right. The brisket sandwich was divine: melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly smoky, and deeply satisfying. The shrimp po’ boy was phenomenal, and the fish Baja tacos were nothing short of incredible. Add to that drinks that were as fun and well-crafted as the lively atmosphere and music, and you’ve got a place that knows exactly what it’s doing. To top it all off, the service was genuinely lovely. A total win from start to finish.
