Restaurant lEmpreinte - (Near Sherbrooke, QC)

1 /5 Momo Baba: - waited by the door for a few minutes before the owner finally sees us and greeted with a “good evening” - when checking our reservation on his tablet, the owner shrugged and muttered something, then pointed us to a direction. We had to find the table by ourselves - the 20 minutes passed, no one spoke to us, there was nothing on the table at all, not even water - then the owner finally came, poured 2 glasses of water, the dropped the menu on the table. No words communicated. - 10min later, the owner finally came, ordered 7 course, once again, the owner seemed unable to speak English at all. - finally the dish came, it even wasn’t the first dish on the menu but the second. There was no introduction, owner simply placed it on the table and left. - no one took our plates when it is finished - nobody cared about us and the couple next to us, at all. The whole experience is like a Mulholland drive horror movie, unreal.

5 /5 JR B: As usual, I had a wonderful evening out at lEmpreinte! The food was, of course, absolutely delicious, as were the drink pairings. And, as is always the case here, the service was excellent. Benoit delights with his warmth and knowledge of the food and drink that is served. Merci!

3 /5 Cielo Tan: Place wasnt busy...There was only 2 table of 2 but probably because its a weekday,and it was Thursday to be exact. The menu is either you get the 7 or 5 tasting menu with wine accompaniments of full or half accord.We chose to get the seven.The first one was a charcuterie with sapin.Nothing special and the sapin was too strong.It completely killed the plate.We gave a benefit of the doubt for the next plates but until the last plate of dessert, nothing stands out.I found that most or some of the ingredients of the plate doesnt go along well.Everything in the buffalo plate was all sour.The mushroom with gnocci plate was ok or we can say good but not exceptionally good.For a restaurant that categorized as fine dining,....All the plate lacks refinement taste and texture per se. Even the wine accompaniments doesnt blend well with the plates.There was probably 2 or 3 thats ok. Decoration and ambiance is good and nice.We should have chose the table not the table with high chairs.My mistake. Service is very good.The owner is friendly and respectful. We ordered the 7 tasting menu with half accord but charged with full accord. Was a bit disappointed.

Every dish put together with attention detail, complexity, and you can both see and taste the effort that went into making them. The staff set a friendly ambiance perfect for couples and families alike. Highly satisfied

5 /5 Cory and Luc: The food was excellent and presented beautifully. It took a long time to get our first two course..2 hours. I like a leisurely dinner but that was pretty slow. The server brought us the same two courses twice... Be prepared to take your time. 5 courses took 4 hours.
