2 /5 GOOGLE-Lvibe: ★★☆☆☆
I visited King Kebab recently for a proper review as a Google Local Guide, and unfortunately the experience didn’t match the pricing or expectations. I’m Persian and from North Vancouver, and I’ve tried almost every Iranian restaurant in the area—so I have a good baseline for comparison.
The first issue was the bill. A tip was already added without any clear notice to the customer. My brother, not realizing this, tipped again in cash. When I asked the owner about it, he said, “I don’t add tip for Iranians,” but the printed bill showed otherwise. Transparency matters, especially when customers are already paying premium prices.
The food was delicious overall, but the rice was a bit greasy. There was a noticeable layer of grease on both plates.
For two people, the total came to about $70. In North Vancouver, I can get noticeably better food quality for around $40. The flavour and quality here simply didn’t justify being one of the highest‑priced Persian restaurants in the region.
I hope they improve both the food quality and the clarity around billing, because the potential is there—but right now, the value just isn’t.
