Garde Manger - Montréal

Casey Levine Bigger What an incredible experience beginning to end. The restaurant is warm and inviting, the staff very friendly and knowledgeable - all of their recommendations were fantastic. A huge thanks to David and Chef for ensuring our dinner was impeccable. I have some significant dietary constraints and wasnt sure I would be able to participate with the rest of the group in the storied tasting menu. However, David was most kind in coordinating with me in advance a full presentation with modifications to ensure I could enjoy the evening. Everything from the Ahi, to the beets, to the swordfish, salmon, carrot and the most incredible apple and coconut sorbet was delightful. Truly a unique and inviting experience, highly recommend.

Agustina LV Delicious food and great ambience. We got two appetizers and mains plus a dessert, so price was high but expected and definitely worth it. Definitely recommend the poutine with duck confit and the maple pudding!

Spazzito A bit of a late review but about 3 weeks ago, I walked in as a solo diner and left as if I came with friends! Valter is a one of a kind server and I wish him eternal joy and happiness in his life. His high intellect and charisma really brings a certain charm to dinner that rarely occurs on solo nights out. I expressed my desire to order in French and practice with him and he actually let me! He was patient with me as both a customer and a student of the French language. Granted it wasn’t busy either but it still means something when your meal doesn’t feel transactional or rushed as some places had made me feel (especially with my limited French). I will definitely be coming back on my next visit to Montreal for another pleasant experience at this restaurant. I had the dumplings, the short ribs, the side salad (not pictured) , one of the desserts that had icecream in shortbread(? I think) and a glass of wine. Also the bread is FAB!!! The place is pricey but I would still recommend it for my above budget/treatyoself girlies and would definitely had split all of these if I had a friend with me (I was eating with my eyes when I ordered). Can’t wait to come back !!

Gaspar Brasserie Française - Montréal

Sara Portwood Outstanding experience. We came in with huge appetites and got the charcuterie board, escargot and bone marrow, braised beef cheek, and confit duck! All delicious. Our server, Nicholas, provided amazing service. It was incredibly crowed for a Wednesday night and he moved seamlessly, remembering every order, maintained such positive interactions with everyone, and checked in on us frequently. To accommodate walk-ins while it was so busy, the hostess and manager placed us in a gorgeous lobby to order cocktails and wait for a table to open up. That was a really good experience.

Monarque - Montréal

Betty B Great Saturday night dinner at Monarque. Beautiful restaurant, bustling with people and great energy. We ate in the Brasserie. The food, wine, service, and overall vibe were all excellent. For starters, our table of four shared the octopus and trout tartare with such fresh bread.and butter that was so good we had two servings. The mains were delicious tuna and the lamb special served with vegetables and potatoes that melted in your mouth. Dessert was an excellent tartine, the combination of apples and ice cream was perfect and so yum. We also enjoyed a really nice bottle of red wine. Just an all-around great night.

Jardin Nelson - Montréal

Jayeeta Basu Jardin Nelson is one of Old Montréal’s true gems. An open garden courtyard-styled dining area full of plants, warm lighting, and live music creates a vibrant atmosphere. One’s excited while waiting in the queue (we made the mistake of dropping in without a reservation) about the food to be sampled. And the food, when it came, was absolutely delicious! Overall, Jardin Nelson is an ideal spot whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or looking for a romantic evening out. The menu offers a great variety of options, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. Their crêpes are especially delicious, and the cocktails pair perfectly with the lively yet laid-back vibe of the space. Service was quick despite how busy the restaurant was. Reservation is definitely recommended. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Montréal. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere!
