2 /5 Bunbun: Hawksworth Restaurant has always been one of the most highly praised restaurants in the past decade, if not longer. Sadly, that is no longer the case after a recent visit. Dishes are no longer sent out with quality control, poor ingredient combinations, and there is a lack of aesthetics just to name a few.
When the server brought the first dish, Prosciutto di san daniele with pickled vegetables, it was an embarrassing moment for me in front of my guests. No one wanted this extremely low quality meat and vegetables paired with unappetizing plating until the table was halfway cleared.
The beets dish was sprinkled with cumin, pork collar was cooked in a sweet soy sauce that is similar to the Chinese dish braised pork. Since when did Hawksworth become a fusion restaurant? If I wanted fusion food, there are plenty of places elsewhere to visit at a much better price.
Beef carpaccio was not fresh, fries that came with the burger were stale, scallops were too salty, and the duck confit was dry. The best dish that day was the baby kale salad.
Why did I not bring these issues up with the server? Because it would be impossible to fix any of these problems without proper management at the establishment, and I do not care how the business runs in the future.
The Hawksworth Group just lost a customer who used to buy thousands of dollars in gift cards. After the remaining balance is used, it will be a forever goodbye to Hawksworth Restaurant and all of its other businesses under his name.
